Breathe free
Open your lungs
You're not listening
Breathe free
Your mind is numb
But your heart beats rippling
Beats with the earth and it stands
Can't build home on treeless sands
Or any land with any slant
Conscious heads but many ants
Breathe free
Open your lungs
You're not listening
Breathe free
Your mind is numb
But your heart beats rippling
Ripples can't relax
Ripples can't relax
Ripples can't relax
When they leave they will come back
Ripples can't relax
Ripples can't relax
Ripples can't relax
When they leave they will come back
Feed the trees
Your meat nutrition
Underneath the roots a feeding frenzy
Feed the trees
Cycle unending
Full they will be when we are empty
Our breath has a way of helping move oxygen through our body (including our brain) helping to sort of reset the spaces we find ourselves in. It's been hard to find scenarios that a few slow intentional breaths didn't help.
Just like with the intentional breathing above, you can't even get to the breath if you can't learn to find a way to pause whatever space you are in to take an assessment of your physical and mental state.
Find the little shimmers in the darkness to remind us that the sun will in fact still rise.
